I bought a dress. A green fantastic dress. One of those dresses that always seems to fit, always feels comfortable. But it was the last, and from the old season. So no hope in buying another one. The only option: make one myself. And so I did.
I traced the favourite dress on tracing paper. First I added a seam. And made a trial dress. I tried it on and going on Martijn's reaction I probably shouldn't wear it outside our house ;). But it was great because it helped me revise the pattern. Next step was cutting into the beautiful fabric I bought over the weekend.
Thanks to my serger it only took about 45 minutes to make. Easy peasy!
For the arms and the neckline, I used some recycled stretchy biais. The colour was a 100% match! What are the chances for that? It gives it a really professional look ;).
And I added my own label. I orded these two weeks ago. I'm not really happy with them, but will use them up and then try a different company.
Wauw!
ReplyDeletePrachtig!
